It has been brought to my attention that the infamous video of Benedict dancing to Thriller was stolen from his former girlfriend’s Facebook when it was hacked, and then posted to the internet against her wishes.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of this, or of the fandom’s opinion that spreading the video around or using clips of it in any format was “horribly rude, almost to the point of disgusting,” until I woke up this morning and discovered several anonymous messages about the photoset in which I used a clip of that video.

By the time I read the messages, the photoset had nearly 400 notes. I can’t ask anyone who reblogged it to delete it, nor can I stop anyone from reblogging it from other blogs if they wish, but I’ve deleted the photoset from this blog.

I apologize if the photoset made any of my followers uncomfortable. I would never have used the video if I had been aware that it was offensive to do so. Thank you to those who made me aware of the nature of the video, though I wish you hadn’t used the anonymous feature, as I would have liked to message you back directly.
